Conroy confirmed for Broadcasting Summit 2012: Early Bird Discount available

Celebrating its 10th year, the next Australian Broadcasting Summit will be held in February 2012. The Summit attracts over 300 senior level delegates from across TV, radio and new media, to hear from top CEOs and to network amongst themselves. Communications Minister Stephen Conroy has now been confirmed to deliver the opening address.

 

The agenda features CEOs from traditional tv and radio broadcasting, plus agencies, new media, new entrants and regulatory bodies to showcase developments, innovations and outlooks for 2012.

 

This two-day summit is considered the annual meeting place for key influencers in Australia’s broadcasting industry, with two days dedicated to television, and one-day focusing on radio.

 

AMT’s Steve Ahern will host the radio stream with high profile speakers including: Joan Warner, CEO of Commercial Radio Australia; Kate Dundas, Director of Radio at the ABC; Ciaran Davis, CEO of the Australia Radio Network; Mark Neefy, of Audience Measurement Consulting Services and Nick Condon, Network Content Operations Manager for the Australian Radio Network.

 

 

The Australian Broadcasting Summit 2012 will offer senior stakeholders a platform to discuss pressing issues and explore broadcast industry strategies for the year ahead.

 

The Radio Stream of the conference will be held on the 23rd February at the Sydney Convention Centre. Conference highlights also include:

  • The ACMA’s latest plans for radio digitisation.
  • Insight into the success of the BBC iPlayer from the President of Worldwide Networks & Global iPlayer, BBC Worldwide.
  • Exploration of key online and multi-platform initiatives driving the success of Australian radio.
  • An examination of media buying trends for 2012.
  • Lessons from key commercial players on how radio can take advantage of changing consumption patterns.

 

Other topics include, ‘Commercial radio 2012’, ‘Driving innovation in public radio’,  ‘Re-visiting audience measurement for the digital world’, ‘Driving multi-platform content’, and a discussion relating to the question, ‘How can radio take advantage of changing consumption patterns?’
