Chrissie Swan for Mix101.1, Brig & Lehmo for Gold breakfast

ARN has revealed two new breakfast shows for Mix101.1 and GOLD104.3 in 2012. The breakfast show shake up comes as ARN prepares for a very competitive 2012 in the Melbourne radio market. Mix101.1 breakfast will be hosted by Silver Logie winner and Gold Logie nominee Chrissie Swan who will already be familiar to Mix listeners as co-host of the 3pm Pick up. She will be joined by Nova’s Jamie Row. Brig and Lehmo will move studios from Mix101.1 to GOLD104.3 where they will replace Grubby and Dee Dee.

There are no format changes planned. Brig and Lehmo will “stay true to GOLD104.3’s on-air promise of good times and great classic hits,” according to National Content Director Duncan Campbell.

“These are obviously major changes for ARN. I’ve made no secret of the fact that we are determined to be more competitive in Melbourne next year and we need breakfast to work on both stations for that to happen. Breakfast is the most important day-part for any radio station, and we have decided to launch with our strongest breakfast proposition yet.

“It’s an exciting time for ARN as we move into 2012; we believe the new appointments will offer a fresh level of creativity and energy to breakfast as we face a very challenging year ahead.”

Lehmo says Grubby and Dee have left “very big shoes to fill, but we are super excited to be bringing our lives to GOLD104.3.” Brig says she will enjoy listening to most of her favourite songs now that she has moved over to the Gold format.

Lehmo is “pumped at the thought of talking more footy, hanging out with Brig for another year and dancing around the studio to all the songs I grew up with.”

Brig and Lehmo will start on air with GOLD104.3 from 6am, Monday 16th January 2012. Chrissie Swan will commence on Mix101.1 from 6am, Monday 6th February 2012.
