Conversation hour raises much needed funds

The Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF) has received a Christmas bonus of more than $7000 through the proceeds of an online auction of a bound collection of autographed program rundowns donated by 774’s Conversation Hour. 

It’s an eclectic and impressive autograph book of sorts signed by each and every guest who has appeared with Jon during the year and includes more than 300 celebrated authors, academics, actors, musicians, humanitarians  the likes of:  Ai Weiwei, Cadel Evans, Wendy Whiteley, Bob Brown, Joan Baez, Andrew Denton, Tim Winton, Ilyasah Shabazz (daughter of  Malcolm X), Paul Stanley M.Night Shyamalan, Deborah Conway, Anil Kapoor, Bill Bryson, John Cale, Eddie Perfect, Courtney Barnett, Dame Julia Cleverdon, Peter Singer, Bryn Terfel, Miriam Margolyes,  David Gulpilil, Suzi Quatro and stacks more. 

The winning bid came from a listener in Echuca Moama who has a strong personal interest in the promotion of Indigenous culture and literacy.

Proceeds of the auction will benefit up to 200 Indigenous communities around the country and contribute to the purchase of 40,000 new books.
