There isn’t much you can’t find on the Internet if you look hard enough.
radioInfo reported recently it appeared Southern Cross Austereo’s hit branding would be rolled out regionally sooner rather than later after a search of whois.com.au revealed new domain names for two of SCA’s bigger regional stations in Hobart and on the Gold Coast.
Earlier this week ARN announced the KIIS Network’s Drive Show, Hughesy & Kate, will be driving listeners home nationally with their addition on Perth’s 96FM from next week.
Tech Adam D had a thought…could a potential rebrand of 96FM into a KIIS format be on the cards?
A WHOIS lookup on the domain name, kiis96.com.au returned no results. Not content in stopping there, he gave kiis961.com.au, the full frequency format as existent on KIIS1065 and KIIS1011 a shot.
Turns out the domain kiis961.com.au has been registered and unsurprisingly, matches the WHOIS details on kiis1065.com.au.
I think re branding 96fm is a good thing. Whilst at it they should re-brand Mix in Adelaide and 97.3 In Brisbane. At last a true network. Now would be the time to re brand the MIX brands whilst they are rating well. They could softly switch over.
