Counting down to RadioDays Europe: Must see sessions

Steve Ahern shares his must see sessions for RadioDays Europe.

The sun is setting over Athens and RadioDays Europe is only days away.

If you’re travelling to Athens for the conference and exhibition, see you there!

If you’re not coming to RDE this year, keep reading radioinfo over the next week for our coverage of the world’s best radio conference.

I’m looking forward to hosting the important CEO Session, where this year, five of us will discuss the big issues that ‘keep CEOs up at night.’

In preparation for this session I asked the CEOs to keep a note book by their beds and when they woke up at night thinking of a big issue that was on their mind, they should write it down and send me a list.

Each CEO has sent me their top 5 issues, some exciting  and positive, such as creating new shows, and some challenging, such as revenue and competition. We will discuss all of those topics in a 45 minute session in Track 1 on Monday, March 10th at 2:55pm. Besides me, the industry leaders are:

  • Konstantinos Fotopoulos, from EIIRA in Greece
  • Baiba Zuzena, from Latvia’s national broadcaster
  • Vivian Mohr, from Bauer Media UK
  • Charles-Emmanuel Bon, from Radio France

Some other sessions we are looking forward to attending and covering for radioinfo include:

On Sunday there’s a series of workshops, we will be covering: audio books, the programming and sales summits and as many other Sunday sessions as possible.

On Monday my highlights will be:

Jackie O’s session, The Whole Truth, Monday, March 10, 2025 10:15 am, track 1.

Emma Lawson’s session, Lights, Camera, Podcast, Mastering Video for the Next Wave of Podcasting, Monday, March 10, 2025 10:15, track 2.

Nick Godman’s session on podcastiong about The Power of Passionate Niches, Monday, March 10, 2025 4:05pm, track 2

On Tuesday, look out for these sessions:

Cilla Benko’s session titled Live radio’s digital future: adding value beyond the stream, Tuesday, March 11, 2025 9:00am, Track 1

A session about comdey podcasts called Laughing all the way to No.1, Tuesday, March 11, 2025 10:00am, track 3

There have been a couple of late scratchings. Cyclone Alfred has grounded James Cridland, who was travelling from Queensland, and covid has stopped another presenter from getting here, so check your program on the first day to confirm your planned sessions.

The conference has a large group of exhibitors showing off their latest equipment, including evolutions of existing products and new AI based applications for radio and audio. Connect with them here.

Here are some tips from two local broadcasters on what to do in your spare time in Athens while here for RDE25.
