“Let’s give ’em something to talk about.”
These are the lyrics of Bonnie Raitt and attitude of Luke Bona after his Night Show was ended last month on Triple M as part of redundancies across SCA.
Such was the response from listeners who loved the program that Luke, and his producer Tom Denham have set up the man cave, enlisted the wisdom of Granny Sue and put the call out for names for a coming soon podcast.
No word yet on how frequent it will be, or how listeners might be able to interact, but the response already has been significant.
Another podcast in the works, from ex-Triple M employees, this time in Adelaide, is from Blewey and Jars. Bernie, Blewey and Jars, that’s Bernie Vince, Greg Blewett and Andrew Jarman, had their drive show cancelled in September last year to make way for the networked JB and Billy from Melbourne.
While JB and Billy, who also network to Hobart and Perth, will go around the grounds in the AFL season, and across other sports, Blewey, one of the finest cricketers from SA, and former Adelaide Crows star Jars, know the lay of the land in their hometown. Bernie Vince moved onto SAFM Breakfast with Emma G.
The new podcast will be called Blewey and Jars Uncut and launches next Tuesday March 11, just in time for the pair to wrap up the Champions Trophy in the cricket, and Round 1 of the AFL.
