Crowe laughs off Merrick & Rosso Stunt

Oscar winning actor, Russell Crowe, has enjoyed the latest Merrick & Rosso prank so much that he has sent the Nova 969 breakfast duo a parcel of goodies and a note.

Onlookers watched in horror last weekend when they saw what appeared to be Crowe losing control of a pram, which then started heading towards a steep edge at Bondi Beach.

The ‘Crowe’ impersonator – in South Sydney rugby league jersey, wraparound sunglasses and cap – turned out to be ‘Rosso Crowe’.

Rosso even signed autographs for people and posed for photos!

The stunt was all part of a new show Merrick & Rosso are filming.

In response, The Daily Telegraph’s Sydney Confidential reports the real Russell Crowe has sent the pranksters some ‘Cinderella Man’ merchandise, a South Sydney jumper, some old hats and a note:

You are a pair of funny bastards. Actually, Tim (Rosso), if you are looking for weekend work, I could always use a trained decoy!

“The Souths’ jumper is one of only eight made in that design. The hats have been sweated in by that Gladiator guy!”
