Dance music gets a new station in Western Sydney with Starter FM

Dance music has made a return to Western Sydney, with a new and independent youth radio station, Starter Free Media (Starter FM).

Starter FM’s focus is on the various genres of Dance, Top 40 and Urban as well providing a platform for Western Sydney and local Australian talent to have their music played.

Some of the shows that Starter FM air are, BRL, an Australia’s Hip Hop show, covering Australian Hip Hop from all angles, airing at 7pm Thursdays and The Hype, a showcase of the freshest Hip Hop and Club tracks with some of the biggest names in Australia, airing 7pm Saturday Nights.

Manager and founder of Starter FM, Daniel Warren, says, I looked around for a Dance music station that I could get involved with in Sydney/Western Sydney. I was unsuccessful in finding what I was looking for so I decided to start my own Station but with a difference, I wanted it to be on par with dance stations like Fresh 92.7 and Kiss FM Melbourne, and not just another throw away online dance music station.

“After launching the station I started finding other like-minded people who also had a passion for Dance music and wanted to see a Youth Dance music station in Sydney/Western Sydney which started the push for a narrowcast frequency or DAB+ spectrum.

“We are looking to get revenue through listener supporters though our Patreon and Gofundme campaigns and local business advertising, Eg, Local Clubs and Bars.”
