Daylight Saving reminder – update automation

Daylight Saving begins this week in many states.

The clocks have been turned back in Tasmania since the beginning of October, with many networked programs beginning an hour earlier to service the early starter state. Now NSW, VIC, ACT and SA catch up.

If you are using automation this weekend, don’t forget to program your machine to adjust itself to the daylight saving time shift before you knock off on Friday afternoon, otherwise you will return to work on Monday to find your whole format out of sync by one hour.

If you are using Selector, here are some tips:

SELECTOR and LINKER XV- Versions 15.1.6j and above

Make sure you do this before you enter into or schedule October 31st, 2004.

Selector/Linker XV does this automatically as long as the user’s system clock is correct and the “Automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes”

checkbox is enabled in Windows’ Date/Time Properties|Time Zone tab- See below.

Double click on the clock in your windows taskbar to check if this setting is turned on.

FOR SELECTOR and LINKER 12

Make sure you do this before you enter into or schedule October 31st, 2004.

In Selector, press F5 while you’re in the Day Scheduler and put in the correct date and start time.
