Today is the deadline for public comment on planned FM capacity for commercial and ABC radio stations in the Mackay and Emerald regions of Queensland.

The ABA has proposed FM channel capacity for 4MKY in Glenden, 4MMK in Nebo and Clairview/St Lawrence (to overcome reception deficiencies), and ABC radio in Mackay (for a future national service).

There are also FM proposals for 4HIT Emerald in Blackwater and Middlemount (reception problems) and the ABC in Emerald (two future national radio services).

As well, the ABA wants to change the operating conditions of the Moranbah and Woorabinda community radio services to extend their licence areas.

Those wanting to comment on the additional proposals should do so by COB today (see the ABA website: www.aba.gov.au).
