Dennis Stokes has resigned as CEO of First Nations Media Australia telling the board the decision has not been easy but was due to personal reasons and that he could no longer commit 100% of his time to the role.
He says the reasons for his departure far outweigh the reasons to remain in the role as CEO, “I wish you all well and have made some great contacts and friendships here and I am sure they will remain just that as the years will pass.
“I wish you all the best and am sure the great work you do will continue and you will make sure that the voices of First Nations Australians will continue to be heard.”
His resignation as CEO became effective Tuesday, September 13 and the board has begun the recruitment process for a new CEO.
In the interim, FNMA’s day-to-day operations will be managed by Chief Operations Officer, Jenni Nixon.
