Digital Media opportunities at Sydney summit

New opportunities for delivery and content are accompanying advances in digital media technology. But there are also challenges, especially in respect of intellectual property rights.

The Australian Interactive Media Industry Association’s Digital Media Summit in Sydney on 27-28 September will review recent developments and how they are shaping the future of media in Australia.

Courtney Gibson, the ABC’s arriving Executive Head of Content Creation will deliver the keynote address.

Richard Freudenstein, CEO of News Digital Media will discuss digital v. traditional delivery, interactive TV, mobile and broadband, and trends.

An interactive panel comprising Freudenstein; David Holmes, Managing Director of OneDigital; Jack Matthews, CEO of Fairfax Digital; and Kim Anderson, GM of Southern Cross View will assess the future. Other speakers include Ian Smith, CEO of Yahoo!7; Hugh Baldwin, Nickelodeon’s Digital Media Director; Rohan Lund, Seven’s Head of Digital Media; Chris Noone, Ninemsn’s Group Mobile Director; and Angus Beattie, 3 Mobile’s product advertising manager.
