dmg Radio appoints new Program Director for Nova 919

David Shearer has joined Nova 919 in Adelaide as Program Director.

David joins dmg Radio from the Guardian Media Group where he has been Program Director for the past four years.

Paul Jackson, dmg Radio Australia Group Program Director said:

We’ve a great track record of success in Adelaide and Dave’s skills in building and coaching high class teams means that, with a new breakfast show and Program Director, Nova 919 is sure to have an outstanding 2013.”

With a media career spanning over 20 years, Shearer was Content Director for EMAP (now Bauer Media) from 1987 to 2001. While responsible for EMAP’s radio, magazine and TV interests, EMAP won a Sony Gold for Best Music Program for developing Smash Hits magazines to a TV and radio brand.

From 2001 to 2005, David was Managing Director for UKR Group Ltd, a successful recruitment agency. He returned to radio in 2005 as Program Director for Century Radio. In 2006 David joined Bauer Media managing Wave 105, the group’s most profitable radio station, and the following year he was awarded NAB’s European Radio Programmer of the Year.
