dmg’s Adelaide General Manager Paul Bartlett resigns

As reported first here on radioinfo yesterday, dmg’s Adelaide General Manager Paul Bartlett has resigned.  He has given dmg six months notice of his intention to move on, and will leave in October. He would not be drawn on his future plans at this stage, but in his usual straight talking style ‘Bart’ has told radioinfo: “I have no plans yet, but suspect after all these years in radio, I’d be crap at anything else.”

Bartlett has been in Adelaide for nearly ten years, before which he worked in Sydney as program director at 2WS FM.

In a memo announcing Bartlett’s resignation yesterday, dmg’s Group General Manager Kingsley Hall said:

“Bart has been an integral part of Fiveaa’s continuing success as the Number 1 station in Adelaide, initially as PD and then as General Manager.  He also oversaw the launch of Nova 91.9 in 2004.

‘When Bart joined us in 2000, FIVEaa was consistently towards the back of the pack from a ratings perspective and by comparison, FIVEaa has now been the number 1 station in Adelaide for the last 3 years.

“Bart has agreed to stay on until October to assist and aid in his replacement’s transition, in addition to managing the all-important footy tipping.”
