Dobbo’s time worth $44 a minute

The eBay auction for ten minutes of Austereo National Program Director Guy Dobson’s time has just concluded, with an extraordinary winning bid of $440.

As previously reported on radioinfo, the Brisbane based executive and dog-lover intends to donate all proceeds to animal charity.

The auction attracted 34 bids over the week, with ‘australianwindowlickers’ prepared to fork out the equivalent of 20 hours of radio industry award wages for the call.

At that price, Dobbo’s time on the phone works out to be ten times more valuable than most psychic hotlines and late-night “it’s just chat” services.

When quizzed by radioinfo about the extraordinary amount bid just to speak to the elusive programmer, Guy retorts:

“I’m worth every pfennig.”
