Down to the final three

Only three remain in the Sea FM apprentice.

The competition to help Sea FM in Northern Tasmania find their next breakfast co-host is now down to the final three apprentices.

The station has been holding challenges for the ‘apprentices’ with one apprentice being ‘fired’ each day until the winner is chosen.

Challenges this week have seen the apprentices marketing Sea FM to as many members of the public as possible, trying to source the biggest celebrity they could to go on air, publicly show their ‘hidden talents’ and over the long weekend collecting as many donations for the Sea FM Wheelie Big Winter Appeal for St Vincent De Paul as they could.

The competition is now down to the final three, who this week also each co-hosted two hours of the Sea FM Breakfast Show with their potential co-host Lee Dixon.

The winner will be announced this Monday June 17 on Sea Fm by ‘The Boss’ Program Director Steve Segale. As reported earlier by radioinfo, the winner will receive a three month contract with Sea FM with the very real possibility of having that being extended.

PD Steve Segale has said in regard to the competition:

“The past two weeks has been some of the most exciting and rewarding radio I have had the pleasure to be a part of. Not only has the street talk around the North West and North East Coasts of Tasmania been fantastic, it has also resulted in a 600% increase in our web traffic. Couple this with the unearthing of some great local talent which would otherwise have gone undiscovered, it will not only benefit Sea FM, but Grant Broadcasters in the long term, and resulted in some riveting radio”.
