Dylan Lewis shifts to Double J arvos, Michael Hing takes on mornings

A few more Double J moves to go with Yumi Stynes getting a permanent weekend gig and Jay and the Doctor the February Artists in Residence. Dylan Lewis (main picture) moves from mornings to arvos after Stacy Gougloulis announced his departure at the end of last year.

Filling Dylan’s morning seat, for the time being, is Michael Hing. Hing hosted triple j Drive for eight years with Lewis Hobba up until July 2023 with the pair continuing on with the ABC with a podcast called Silver Bullet until the end of that year. When it was discontinued they created The Hobba and Hing podcast which has been running independently (but with all their usual comedy and chaos) for the last 12 months. Hing’s Double J bio also says:

“Michael co-hosts the biggest Dungeons and Dragons podcast in Australia, Dragon Friends, and was invited to perform in US by the creators of Dungeons and Dragons. He is also one half of Free To a Good Home, a podcast where he invites guests to sift through the best and worst of newspaper classifieds with him. He once briefly tried to run for the Senate before SBS’ lawyers made very clear that what he was doing was illegal.”

Good to hear him.

Other shifts and changes include Short Fast Loud with Josh Merriel moving from triple j to Double J, Wednesdays from 7pm. Short Fast Loud features punk, hardcore, metal, alternative, interviews and artist and tour news.
Finally, Sky High with Hau Lātūkefu will now be heard at 7pm Thursdays with a repeat on Sunday nights at 6pm.
