Yumi, Jay & the Doctor all returning to Double J

Weekends are about to get a whole lot spicier on Double J. Not only is regular fill in Yumi Stynes (pictured below) taking up a permanent spot on breakfast, from 8am on Saturday and Sunday mornings, with Caz Tran now moving to afternoons, but Frenzal Rhomb incendiaries Jay and the Doctor (that’s Jason Whalley and Lindsay McDougall, main picture, Lindsay, the Doctor, is wearing the shirt that I covet that says Farnsy) are also back as February Artists in Residence. You can hear them at 3pm Sundays. Or anytime via ABC Listen.

Yumi has been doing podcasts for SBS, iHeart Radio and the ABC’s Ladies, We Need To Talk alongside helping out on Double J including their recent special Filthy Fifty Up Late and celebrating the station’s 10th birthday last April. Jay and the Doctor were there too to celebrate the latter. The Doctor left triple j a decade ago, after 10 years on-air, hosting a special  F***ing Off party.

Now the duo, who once told the Sydney Morning Herald that breakfast radio was:

“quips, one-liners, slagging off each other, other bands, other breakfast announcers, listeners, Triple J, Australian Idol and St Ives. It’s verbal ping pong but more discursive.”

Are back to bring the slag for the whole of Feb. Gird your loins!
