Ed Sheeran & Elton John have the final sleigh with ‘Merry Christmas’: AirCheck

The highest debut on the latest AirCheck National Radio Airplay Chart goes to Ed Sheeran & Elton John’s brand new festive collab ‘Merry Christmas’. Entering at No. 29 with 247 spins, the track received early backing from the Nova network, KIIS and smoothfm. Talk radio stations 2GB, 2CC and 2HD also contributed a handful of spins.

Scraping into the Top 40 at No. 39 is young singer-songwriter GAYLE with ‘Abcdefu’. The song was the thirteenth most-played song across the Nova network, single-handedly driving the song into the chart. Overall, 10 stations played ‘Abcdefu’ this week, adding a total of 195 spins.

After 10 weeks on the chart, Adele’s comeback single ‘Easy On Me’ has reached No. 1, displacing Elton John & Dua Lipa’s ‘Cold Heart (Remix)’, which falls to No. 4. ‘Easy On Me’ improved by 32 spins (+3.4%) this week and becomes the eleventh single to hit No. 1 on the airplay chart in 2021.
