SBS’ Andrew Clark appointed ABC Radio Sydney manager

Andrew Clark has been appointed as the new Local Manager for ABC Radio Sydney.

He joins the ABC from SBS News, where he was Executive Producer for 7 years across all content for radio, digital and TV. During that time he oversaw their digital acceleration plan which saw huge growth across all platforms.

Previously Clarke was Assignment Editor at SBS, planning major story coverage in Sydney and beyond, including elections.

He has also worked at Aljazeera and spent 12 years at the BBC. He bagan his career at BBC local radio and later went on to become the BBC’s youngest news editor at the time, working for BBC World. He is a Board member of 2MBS Fine Music.

Andrew says he’s delighted to have been offered the role, helping to connect audiences and cover a city that’s been his home for 13 years. He is passionate about ensuring its diversity of people and stories is celebrated and reflected in the media.

He replaces Melanie Withnall, who recently joined SCA.

Clark begins at ABC Sydney on Monday 13 December, the same day as the new breakfast show, presented by James Valentine.
