entension of time for Mt Gambier frequency change

The ABA has decided to extend the time period for the Mt Gambier community radio service 5GTR to change its operating frequency.

The ABA determined the Mt Gambier licence area plan in December 2001, deciding to reserve channel capacity for one additional national radio service on 105.7 MHz. To make the additional service available, the 5GTR community radio service was required to change frequency, from 105.7 MHz to 100.1 MHz by 18 December 2002.

In response to recent advice from the ABC that it would not be ready to commence operating the additional service in Mt Gambier until mid-2004, the ABA has decided to extend the time period within which 5GTR is required to change its operating frequency, until 31 December 2003.
