History will be made on 3AW 693 this morning, with the auction of the first brand new Victorian number plate on the Neil Mitchell program.

The first plate made with the slogan STAY ALERT STAY ALIVE – 1AA 1AA, will be sold to the highest bidder during a live auction, starting at 9am. All funds raised will go towards The Alfred Hospital’s Emergency and Trauma Centre.

“It’s a great cause, and I’m very happy to be associated with it,” says Mitchell. “The Trauma Centre does outstanding work to help seriously injured motor accident victims.”

“I’m calling on the people of Melbourne to dig deep. The number plate is literally one of a kind. I’m told this plate 1AA 1AA is a little piece of Victorian history.

“It’s the first new series of number plates since 1953 and there are 37 million possible  combinations.”
