96FM Breakfast host Brad “Fitzi” Fitzgerald turned the big 40 yesterday, and all he wanted for the milestone birthday was some great buffalo wings.
 
His favourite restaurant for wings is in the Margaret River and he couldn’t get there for his special day, so along with co-host Carmen, he went on a mission to find Perth’s best wings for a local celebration.

Reaching out to listeners for suggestions over the past week, 96FM’s hotline and facebook page exploded with suggestions and the team whittled it down to just six nosheries.
 
Fitzi then went on a mission to test out the wings.

The categories judged in the search for Perth’s best wings included: Coating, Sauce, Flavour, Portion Size and Presentation.
 
It was a tight competition with Perth proving its worth in the wings stakes, but the overall winner was RoyAl’s Chicken & Burgers at East Victoria Park, leading by just half a point.
 
The competition culminated in Fitzi’s 40th Birthday Celebrations which took place at the winning venue yesterday, attended by the 96FM team and listeners.
