Football fans across the country will have access to live play-byplay calls of the 2017/18 Hyundai A-League with the launch of Football Nation this Friday.

Crocmedia announced today it had secured station partners in all five capital cities, who will collectively broadcast around 100 A-League matches plus additional calls of Socceroos’ and Matildas’ home matches and W-League games across the year.

Broadcast partner Talking Lifestyle 1278AM in Melbourne will take Melbourne City and Melbourne Victory home games on Friday and Saturday nights; the Super Radio Network which includes 2SM in Sydney and 21 regional stations across NSW and South East Queensland will air one match each weekend; FIVEaa in Adelaide will broadcast Adelaide United home games; 6PR in Perth will broadcast Saturday and Sunday home and away matches for Perth Glory while Sport FM in Perth will take non-Glory games; 4BC in Brisbane will air Saturday and Sunday home and away matches for Brisbane Roar and Coast FM in Gosford has been passed-on the rights to call their own games.

Crocmedia Director Chris Giannopoulos said the deal was a win for football fans. “Football Nation will deliver mass live coverage and unparalleled reach for the sport across a choice of platforms,” Giannopoulos said. “It’s the result of a landmark six-year deal between Football Federation Australia (FFA) and Crocmedia to bring the game to a wider audience of fans.” The Football Nation coverage will include a preview, play-by-play call and post game review of the biggest games of the season and will also be live streamed on www.a-league.com.au and the Hyundai A-League app as well as the newly launched www.myfootballnation.com.au that will carry additional exclusive games.
