Former street team member scores new role for SCA in Brisbane

Megan Harvey has been appointed Sport & Partnerships Manager of SCA’s  HIT105 and Triple M in Brisbane.

This is a new role that encompasses activity across both stations, and includes local and national partnerships.

“The business side of radio is never heard over the airwaves, it’s driven by clever content, smart business deals, advertising packages that deliver, and importantly, strong partnerships. Our partnerships are what makes our stations current and part of the communities we represent. Appointing Megan to manage this side of the business is another step to ensuring we remain the leader in media entertainment,” said Damon Reilly, General Manager of Southern Cross Austereo Brisbane.

A graduate of QUT with a Bachelor of Mass Communications majoring in Media Communications and Public Relations, Megan actually started with Southern Cross Austereo as a Street Team member in 2006 across both B105 and Triple M, while still at university; and she never left.

Some 11 years later and having worked across the business in campaigns, promotions and activations since graduating, she now takes the top role in managing the corporate partnerships for the business. She reports directly to Rielly and manages partnerships for both HIT105 and Triple M Brisbane, working closely with the content, sales and agencies teams.

The Southern Cross Austereo Partner line-up includes the Sunsuper Riverfire, Brisbane Festival, EKKA and GoMA among others, while the sporting sector sees the business dominate the region with QLD Rugby League, Queensland Firebirds, Brisbane Heat, Brisbane Bullets, Queensland Reds, Brisbane Roar, Brisbane Lions, Tattersalls Racing and the iconic Bridge to Brisbane all partners.

Musically “both stations are famed for their championing of Australian and international artists”, and the role includes partnering with leading music makers and agents.

HIT105 announced the famed RNB Fridays LIVE concert line-up on Friday, with the event seeing multiple partnerships celebrated.

The company also work on very local levels with junior sporting clubs, local schools and also present the Young Achievers Awards and support local hospitals and charity associations and causes.
