Fresh start on November 1 in Adelaide

After recently being granted a permanent licence, Fresh FM Adelaide will launch its fulltime service this week.

At 4pm on the 1st of November 2002, “Fresh is back- 24 hours a day seven days a week with an exciting line up of new and existing local Fresh presenters.”

The South Australian Premier, Mike Rann will officially launch Fresh FM to the public of Adelaide at that time.

An objective of Fresh FM is to provide first class programming, showcasing the talent of young South Australians as part of the 24 hour format.

Fresh FM “is a community broadcaster like no other. Dedicated to the Youth of Adelaide, and established in 1998, Fresh FM operates as a not-for-profit organisation servicing the greater Adelaide metropolitan area on the frequency of FM 92.7.”

“Fresh is testament that youth with a ‘can do’ attitude can achieve anything when working together,” said President of Fresh Broadcasters Incorporated, Wade Conolly.

The ABA said, when awarding the licence in August: “Fresh has demonstrated that it is committed to providing a youth service with local content and that it is an active participant in the Adelaide community.”

Conolly told radioinfo: ”It has been a long haul but with the dedication of committed volunteers and support from the public especially Adelaide’s youth community , it has all paid off. Fresh FM will provide relevant local information to the youth community and provide a legitimate alternative music genre.”

A launch party on Saturday the 16th of November at St Pauls Entertainment Complex, will be the scene of celebration from supporters of Fresh.
