Full Triple M Grill Team revealed for Sydney – speculation on Melbourne

It seems that the rumours were not wrong linking Triple M breakfast and controversial NRL player turned commentator and often comedian, Matthew Johns. He will be joining cricket tragic Gus Worland on Triple M’s new “Grill Team” in Sydney with the third member being former High Five performer Charli Delaney.

While no replacement has been named for the defunct Myf and Pete breakfast show in Melbourne, speculation in the Herald Sun suggests that the southern city will get the Grill Team networked from Sydney.

On the other hand a report in The Australian suggests that Eddie McGuire and former Hawthorn star Shane Crawford and a yet to be named third person will present the Melbourne show.

Known for his Foxtel series An Aussie Goes… which he co-created, Worland was the first to be named on The Grill Team last week.

Gus’s character and the name of the show supports Austereo Group Content Director, Guy Dobson’s earlier hint that the new breakfast show will have a sports bent.

Dobson said, “Sydney is going to love Gus. He’s funny, relevant, he’s the ultimate sports fan and is perfect for Triple M listeners.” Especially males or those with a male skew.

Gus’ An Aussie Goes… series started in 2006 when he followed the Barmy Army from England to Australia for all five test matches. Foxtel then signed him for a second series where he experienced cricket through the eyes of India and was the second highest rating show on Foxtel ever.
