2ser’s News Director Geoff Field will be involved in the filming on a new Marriage Equality ad on Tuesday.

The community station’s Mission statement reads, in part: Ingrained in the culture and sound of 2ser is its commitment to social justice and political change, and it makes a concerted effort to offer a voice to those in our community that are not otherwise given the chance.

Little surprise then that the station is firmly behind the YES vote in the upcoming Same Sex Marriage postal survey – unless the High Court scuttles it.

Assuming it goes ahead, who better to lead the charge than Geoff Field who, as long time news presenter on the Kyle and Jackie O Breakfast show, participated in what was billed Sydney’s “first illegal gay marriage” in 2005.

According to the 2ser’s facebook page, “Although he and his partner Jason are not thrilled about a postal ballot, they are both encouraging you to vote YES, if it’s the only means to achieving equality.”
