Former ‘Hey, Hey It’s Saturday’ comedian, Russell Gilbert, has returned to 3AW.

Gilbert was one of the casualties at SEN1116, after doing Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

3AW Program Director, Clark Forbes, has told Carbone & Mangan in The Age that despite Gilbert’s earlier defection, he is still seen as “a friend of the station”.

Forbes says he is being welcomed back on Saturday mornings with Trevor Marmalade and Tony Leonard, and on weekday breakfasts, where he is a particular favourite of Ross Stevenson

In the 90s, Gilbert established a career in radio, starting with a spot alongside Richard Stubbs on 3XY, then on Triple M and Fox FM Melbourne, 2NX Newcastle and PMFM in Perth.
