Glenn Daniel leaving WS FM for NewsRadio

ARN’s Group News Director Glenn Daniel has resigned after 14 years reading breakfast news on WSFM in Sydney. The last seven of those years have been with Jonesy & Amanda Keller.

Glenn Daniel has told radioinfo: “I’ll miss the partnership very much….they have been fantastic to work with on the breakfast show and the highlight of 30 years in commercial radio.”

Daniel had open heart surgery in July to replace two heart valves and couldn’t reach terms on a new agreement with ARN as he was about to return to work. “ARN made a business decision and I respect their right to do that.”

He will join ABC NewsRadio in the New Year. “I’ve had 20 wonderful years at 2WS / WSFM in two stints and I leave with nothing but great memories. I began there as a cadet journalist in 1982 and the radio station will always be special to me.

“It’s been a tough year for health and employment, but it’s also been a good year. I’ve learnt a lot about myself and life’s priorities. Those things don’t change despite what happens around you.”

Glenn is also a former News Director of 2SM, 2Day-FM and Triple M and a multi-ACRA Award winner for Best News Presenter.

Amanda Keller shed tears when Glenn Daniel announced his departure on WSFM breakfast this week. See the interview at the link below.
