Going for a song

Triple J is looking for Australia’s best unsigned songwriter.

Their Flesh it Out competition will give a solo songwriter, or a duo team, a trip to Adelaide’s Fuse Festival and the chance to work on their material with three of Australia’s top songwriters.

After Rob Hirst and Jim Moginie both from Midnight Oil, and with Pete Arthur of Junior, work on fleshing out the new song, triple j’s music producers and engineers will record the tune.

To be eligible, songwriters must upload a demo to the triple j site by midnight Sunday 25th February.

Organisers say the recording of the demo does not need to be all that polished, but they’ll be listening closely for the potential in the voice and ideas and the quality of the song itself.
