Graduates on Friday in Perth and starts breakfast on Monday in the goldfields

The Triple M Network’s newest breakfast announcer, Connor Mallis, has had a big week.

Last Friday the Edith Cowan University Graduate Diploma of Broadcasting student was awarded the prestigious Commercial Radio and Audio prize for the student with the most potential in commercial radio.

Judged by industry leaders, they declared Connor’s demo a “clear winner”.

The award comes with a $2000 cash prize and was presented by Gary Roberts AM, former Chair of CRA.

Over the weekend Connor drove hundreds of kilometres from Perth to Kalgoorlie, his life packed into his car, and on Monday he started at Triple M Goldfields.

ECU Graduate Diploma of Broadcasting Course Coordinator Andrea Burns says Connor was a deserving winner,  “Connor was so thrilled to receive this recognition- but he earned it. He’s enormously likeable, works hard but also loves a laugh. I’m sure people in the Kalgoorlie region will love “Connor for Breakfast”!

CRA has been a long sponsor of the Edith Cowan University Graduate Diploma of Broadcasting award, and CEO, Ford Ennals, says, “We recently hosted the Australian Commercial Radio Awards, which celebrated the brightest stars of radio that help make it such an enduring and influential medium. CRA are also strong supporters of the next generation of radio talent to ensure the industry remains relevant to our listeners.

“Congratulations to Connor Mallis for recently completing his Graduate Diploma of Broadcasting at Edith Cowan University and being awarded the student with the most potential in commercial radio.”

“Everyone at CRA is looking forward to following your career and we wish you all the best for what promises to be a bright future!”
