Grant Broadcasters takes fitness seriously


An estimated 2 in 3 Queenslanders are overweight or obese.

That’s the startling statistic behind the launch of Feb Fit, a health and wellness initiative by the Grant Broadcasters radio network.

The Feb Fit campaign includes healthy recipe ideas, a calendar providing daily motivational tips and a directory of local health & wellness events.

Central to the initiative is the Feb Fit Step Challenge, setting the massive goal of achieving 50 million steps, that’s the equivalent to walking around the world. By day 3 of Feb Fit, over 6 million steps have been recorded.

QLD/NT State General Manager Matt Chapman said that while participation and fun is at the heart of Feb Fit, shining a spotlight on the importance of health and wellness is the core message of the campaign.

“Our stations reach over two million people across our radio and digital platforms, so hopefully we can make an impact on this obesity epidemic,” he said.
