Grant Cameron says HOFM purchase is interesting and challenging

The owners of HO-FM, Commercial Broadcasters Pty Ltd, have announced the sale of their Hobart radio station to Grant Broadcasters Pty Ltd.

Grant Cameron told radioinfo: “We are excited to add it to our group. It will be an interesting and challenging market.

“Hobart feel like one of our markets – the type of town we know well.”

This is the first time the Cameron Group will be in direct competition with RG Capital, which owns the other two commercial stations in the market, Magic and SEA FM.

101.7 HO-FM has been owned by Robt. Nettlefold Pty Ltd for the past 75 years and have appreciated the ongoing support from the Hobart community.

Grant Broadcasters is also a family owned, private company and has over 60 years experience in radio broadcasting in Australia with stations reaching from Wollongong to Perth and now Darwin to Hobart.

By joining the Grant Broadcasters group of stations “HO-FM will remain an independent, family owned radio station providing the best possible local radio to the Hobart community, with the added resources and benefits of being part of an experienced and well respected radio network.”

The station is advertising for a new General Manager (see radioinfo jobs page)
