Guess who’s been nominated for Australian of the Year?

You’ll literally have to guess because last time we did a story on this person, we promised ourselves we’d stop giving him any more free publicity.

As a precaution, we’ve XXXXed out their name to protect the sensibilities of those of our readers who might otherwise have a meltdown if they see that name mentioned here again.

XXXX keeps sending us media releases which, for the most part, we ignore. At one point we wrote back to say…

Thank you for your media release and kind offer of an interview.

As we alluded to in our last radioinfo article on XXXX, we’ve been “XXXXed out” for now and would be unlikely to revisit the subject anytime soon.

Still, keep sending material. You never know!

Our apologies if we cause offence, but the heading on the release that arrived today got the better of us…

‘XXXX – Nominated for Australian Of The Year Award’

Imagine our surprise! Here is a person who has been widely described as a conman by the media and has left a trail of unpaid bills, yet here they are nominated, by actual people, for this nation’s highest honour.

The Media Release said: XXXX is now in the running to become Australian of the Year after being nominated by various members of the public.

It went on to say: Modesty is evident when speaking to XXXX, who is very humbled by his nomination, “I think there are plenty of other people like the young men and women who go to war who deserve much more recognition than me,” he said.

What’s next? Why not challenge Donald Trump for Republican nomination for U.S. President? On past form, he will probably convince the “birthers” that XXXX was born in Hawaii while Trump was born in Kenya.

Finalists for the 2016 Australian of the Year Awards will be announced in October/November.

What are the odds XXXX’s name will be on the list?
