2GB’s Ray Hadley is celebrating a quarter of a century on radio.
Hadley began working casually at 2UE in 1982, presenting traffic reports in Gary O’Callaghan’s breakfast show.
He became an understudy race caller to Des Hoysted and John Tapp, and in 1987 headed up 2UE’s rugby league coverage.
For 10 of the next 13 years, Hadley led the Continuous Call Team to ratings victories.
He joined Macquarie Radio Station 2GB after 19 years with 2UE, and in 2002 was offered Mornings, while continuing to call the football on weekends.
Within a year, Hadley had become the only broadcaster in ratings history to be number one seven days a week.
