Heart listeners open up their hearts and wallets

Following a month of fundraising events, Heart 107.3’s Give Me Five For Kids™ the station has raised a record amount for the children’s ward of the Royal Hobart Hospital.

Heart 107.3’s breakfast team Kim & Dave announced the grand total of $126,549.40 as the biggest community donation made to the hospital outside government funding.

The station’s Give Me Five for Kids initiative has been running for nine years as part of the wider appeal across the Southern Cross Media network. Over that period, Heart 107.3 has raised $529,000. 

Royal Hobart Hospital Community Relations Director Pene Snashall was overwhelmed by the response from the Hobart community, and what it meant for the Hospital in the Home Program moving forward.

“As a result of this amazing donation the hospital and program have now been able to reassess our wish lists,” said Ms Snashall. “What’s more, we’ll be able to help a broader range of paediatric patients.”
