Hot Tomato No 1 on the Gold Coast: GfK Survey 1, 2024

Hot Tomato has had a blinder in the Gold Coast’s GfK Survey 1 for 2024. Up 4.4 to 20.8 for all audiences 10+, they now lead 90.5 Triple M Gold (down 2.2 to 10.6) by 10 points with 90.9 Sea FM steady, down 0.3 to 9.1 in third.

Breakfast is much the same with Hot Tomato’s Galey and Emily Jade (pictured) also up 4.3 to 20.6 with Triple M’s Flan, Ali and Spida down 1.9 to 10.1 and Sea FM’s Bronte and Lakey now nipping at their heels, up 0.6 to 9.6. Hot Tomato was up in every day part with huge jumps in listening for their drive duo Moyra and Big Trev (up 8.9 to 26.7) and for the Big Kahuna doing Fat Nights, up 9.9 to 20.3 to nearly double his numbers!

ARN says this is Hot Tomato’s highest ever result with 208K listeners and a 12th winning survey in a row.

Hot Tomato Content Director, Brendon “Whippy” Dangar, said:

“The hard work, fun and focus on local content has certainly paid off today with our best result in the history of the radio station. We are so proud of what we produce everyday for our loyal Gold Coast audience and again have proven local wins all day everyday. We’re off to the roof top bar!”

This is the first survey of the Gold Coast since November 2023. Danny Lakey and Bronte Langbroek are the new pairing on Sea FM breakfast which looks like it may be rebuilding after Bianca Dye and Ben Hannant left last year. This is also the first look at what listeners think of Triple M rebranding to Gold, playing good times and greatest hits, with people aged 40+ turning towards Hot Tomato, down 6+ for the station in 40-64s. Triple M’s networked Nights with Dave Gleeson more than halved its listening audience.

Cumes saw large drops for Sea FM and Triple M with gains for ABC Gold Coast as well as Hot Tomato. Cumulative listening was up overall.
