When somebody like Hugh Jackman sets down a challenge, you say ‘yes’, and that’s exactly what Gus Worland said when his childhood friend challenged him to complete the New York City marathon.

Gus Worland and Hugh Jackman have been friends since primary school.

Over the past six months, Worland has been getting fit and healthy and completing the marathon will be the ultimate measure of just how far he’s come. If he does get over the line, his mate Jackman will be there to give him a high five.

Triple M’s The Grill team are broadcastinng live from New York next week from Monday 3 November to Friday 7 November from 6-9am. The TCS New York Marathon will be the focus of Worland’s time in New York

The marathon takes place on Monday our time and the team are asking everyone to tune in and give Worland all their support.

The New York City marathon is a 42.195 kilometre course and it is the largest marathon in the world, with approximately 50,000 people competing each year.
