Newly opened Star 1045 FM on the NSW Central Coast has coaxed veteran sports commentator, Daryl Eastlake, out of retirement.

The man with the HUUUGGE voice has called Olympic Games, rugby league, Indy 500s and was Australia’s first surf reporter.

Eastlake thought he’d retired to Terrigal, but Star 1045 has enticed him to appear on Meshel and Todd’s breakfast show from 7-7.30am, every Monday and Friday to talk about his beloved footie and share a few laughs.

“I thought I was pretty nuts but, boy, that Meshel and Todd have got me beat. I’m sure we’ll have a lot of fun together.”
