They’re the newest team to join 96 9 Star FM bringing with them not only a wealth of radio experience, but a whole lot of life experience too.
Before trying his hand at radio, Tommy was a Personal Trainer for seven years, but found his love for communicating and radio as the young buck on the red carpet for Triple M Melbourne. No stranger to early mornings from his days as a personal trainer, he jumped at the chance to co-host the breakfast show on Star FM.
“After 2 years of working with the boys on Triple M it was time for me to scrub up and come to work with a clean shirt. It’s proving a little harder than I thought because finding something clean to wear at 4am is a bit of challenge. I’m slotting into the Greater Valley nicely with my new sidekick Candy. There might be only 2 of us, but we’re still a Wolf Pack.” says Tommy.
Candy was on Hobart’s 7HOFM Drive Show. Originally from Melbourne, she’s glad to have jumped ship and come back home to Victoria. She has a background in Marketing and Advertising and the product she’ll be selling is Tommy and Candy.
She also carries a cupid’s arrow in her back pocket as a hangover from her days as a speed dating host and believes this quick thinking, fast acting approach is crucial to good breakfast radio.
“I’m thrilled to be a part of the SCA family and the MOOve to such a great station in Shepparton with the best brekkie co-host and decorative Cows at every turn is already proving to be a colourful adventure. To quote someone close to me, ‘who doesn’t need a jacket and some sugar every day’ (as said by Tommy Jackett),” said Candy.
Both Tommy and Candy also have experience with and a passion for TV Presenting and since Star FM Shepparton is the only regional SCA station with its own locally produced daily Television show ‘Weeknights’, they look forward to taking their ‘faces for radio’ to the big screen.
