It was a very good year for Nova Entertainment

Last Friday NOVA Entertainment held its annual Christmas Lunch at an upmarket eatery, Nour, in trendy Surry Hills.

Mind you, it wasn’t always that way. When as newlyweds we made our home in Surry Hills 26 years ago, it was still very much working class with a smattering of kebab outlets and Turkish pizza. Now Crown Street has become one of the great eat streets of Sydney, kind of like Lygon Street in Melbourne.

Nour, within walking distance from our house and one of our local favourites, is a modern take on Middle Eastern food, a harmonious fusion that emanates from the talent in its kitchen who hale from Lebanon, Israel and Palestine. No conflict here.

Sadly, I was unable to attend on this occasion but NovaEnt was good enough to send some happy snaps of the event to share with our readers.

The lunch hosted by NOVA Entertainment CEO, Cathy O’Connor, was an opportunity to celebrate what was a very successful 2017 for the network with other trade and consumer media, TV producers, record labels (including Sony, Warner, EMI, CHUGG Entertainment, Mushroom Group and UMA) and some friends of Nova’s shows.

Of course some of Nova’s biggest names were there including Fitzy & Wippa, Tim Blackwell & Kate Ritchie, Kent ‘Smallzy’ Small, Nova 100’s Melbourne breakfast show Chrissie, Sam & Browny, Confidential on Nova’s Elle Halliwell and News Journalist Matt De Groot

Some smoothfm announcers were there too Mel Doyle, Richard Wilkins, David Campbell and Glenn Daniel. And no such get would be complete without some corporate executives. Supporting CEO Cathy O’Connor, there was Chief Marketing & Digital Officer Tony Thomas, Group program director Paul Jackson, Group Commercial Officer Peter Charlton, Nova 96.9 Program Director Ben Latimer, Nova 100 PD Rohan Brown, Music Marketing Director Claire Marshall.
