The Christian O’Connell Show celebrated its 8th birthday and show number 1512 with the regular laughter, fun and meaningful moments as well as giving away 1512 Viennettas.
Christian joined the GOLD Network in 2018 from the UK, where he was the youngest ever inductee into the UK’s Radio Academy Hall of Fame and had won more Radio Academy Awards than any other person. He became an Australian citizen in 2023 and remains the only radio host in the world to have reached number one in two different countries.
He said:
“Eight years ago, 2018 June the 4th is when I began this show.
Honestly, you’ve probably seen that this year’s been a very explosive year in breakfast radio, but it feels like since I’ve been here for eight years, it’s always explosive for breakfast radio in Australia….Today is actually show number 1,512 and I wanted to say thank you for each of those shows because that’s what it takes to build something that hopefully adds value in the morning to people who have been part of it the last couple of years…We really do make this show together every single morning.”
