Dear Rachelle takes home the 2026 National Press Club Award

It has been a phenomenal awards season for the News Corp Australia and The Daily Telegraph podcast Dear Rachelle where host and journalist Ashlea Hansen revisits the unsolved 2001 murder of 23-year-old Rachelle Childs.

The podcast has already taken home Signal Awards, an International News Media Association (INMA) Global Media Award and Best Crime Podcast – Major plus Best Podcast Producer – Major for Rhys Gunter at the recent Australian Audio Awards.

Alongside two other New York Festivals Awards, Dear Rachelle also won the NYFestival’s 2026 National Press Club Award given to the highest scoring news program across the Breaking News Story Coverage, Continuing News Story Coverage, Nonfiction Series, Investigative Journalism Podcast and News Podcast categories.

Dear Rachelle has been downloaded more than 4.7 million times and topped podcast charts in both Australia and the UK.
