The new breakfast team at Wave FM Wollongong will be Jade, Trav and Chris, after the departure of Mel Greig, who left the show last week for new opportunities in Sydney.

It is not Jade’s first time as part of the breakfast team. Jade Papesch joined the show after leaving AFTRS over a decade ago, then several years ago, left to spend time with her young daughter Lulu who was diagnosed with Down syndrome.

Jade, now known by her married name Tonta, will rejoin the team immediately.

Wave FM’s General Manager Tony Williams has told radioinfo: “We are very lucky that someone of Jade’s talent was at a time in their life when they could step straight back into the Breakfast show. Jade is so well known and loved in this market.”

Jade says:  “I’m like John Farnham, keep coming out of retirement! In all seriousness, I’ve missed Breakfast Radio, and we’ve got a good team so I’m really looking forward to it. It’s going to be a lot of fun. Lulu’s doing really well and is off to big school next year, so it’s good timing for us as a family too.”

Jade has called the Illawarra home for almost 40 years and joins Travis Winks and Chris Lee, 5am to 9am weekdays on 96.5 Wave FM.
