Jase and Lauren take over Nova weekends

Jase and Lauren will provide highlights from their weekly breakfast show on Mebourne’s Nova 100 on Saturdays and Sundays, 8-10am, across the Nova Network.

Sports enthusiasts will know we are midway through NRL and AFL seasons with radio listening to sports driven stations from Nine, SEN and Triple M picking up weekend (and weekday) audiences during their seasons, and particularly in the lead up to finals.

I think this is an excellent brand building move from Nova, because weekends can win No 1 station ratings – just ask smooth.

There’s been talk this week that Kyle and Jackie O‘s launch into Melbourne on KIIS 101.1 is a precursor of more national networking to come. At this point they provide their Hour of Power from 6-7pm weekdays to KIIS Brisbane and other metro, provincial and regional ARN stations. Weekend mornings, in the same spot as Jase and Lauren will be, KIIS recently announced a networked show hosted by Chris ‘Pagey’ Page and Amy Gerard.

This new move from Nova won’t impact GfK Survey 3 which is out in early June, but we may see it in Survey 4, as people catch up with Jase and Lauren before their sporting or smooth fix.
