Jase & PJ’s Sausage Society

KIIS 101.1’s Jase & PJ Breakfast Show took their love of the humble snag to the next level and last week unveiled the ‘Spag Bol Sausage’.

They’ve created ‘Society’s Sausage’ and hit the streets of Melbourne to give away thousands of their Spaghetti Bolognese Sausages to hungry Melbournians, delivering their sausages to parties and events, including an RSL Bowls club BBQ, a 5th Birthday Party, a school fete, Halloween party and an aged care facility – in suburbs including: Brunswick, Brighton, Rosana, Coburg, Essendon, St Albans, and Reservoir.

So how did the Spag Bol Sausage come about?

A few weeks ago, Jase bought a sausage maker and he and PJ decided to have a go at creating the ultimate snag, asking listeners for suggestions and then they set about putting the recipes to the test.

The Butter Chicken Sausage, the Tomato & Mustard Sausage, and the Pancake Sausage all failed to impress with the clear winner being the Spaghetti Bolognese Sausage.

With the help of local Kew butchers, Cannings Free Range Butchers, Jase & PJ sent the ‘Spag Bol Sausage’ into mass production to give Melbourne the sausage they’ve always wanted.

It’s even received the tick of approval from certified official Spaghetti Bolognese ambassador, 74-year-old Nonna Maria.

Jase & PJ held a public tasting at Jase’s local Hampton Bowls Club and got Melbourne hero and Nine personality Peter Hitchener to have a taste, and even held an online auction to see how much one sausage would go for, and while the highest bid was $20,000, they’re yet to see any money.
