Jo and Lehmo deliver life changing news

A Victorian couple hit the jackpot today after they won a life-changing $2.8 million home in the Royal Melbourne Hospital Home Lottery, plus a whopping $50,000 in gold.

Jo Laidlaw, a mum of six, was shocked when she was told on GOLD 104.3‘s breakfast radio show this morning that she was the lucky winner of a new five-bedroom house in Glen Iris.

Lottery ambassadors and GOLD 104.3 radio hosts Jo Stanley and Anthony ‘Lehmo’ Lehmann were on the radio survey break this morning so long-time radio host Craig ‘Huggsy’ Huggins was the lucky host to break the news to Mrs Laidlaw.

“This is not a joke is it?” Mrs Laidlaw said when she answered the phone this morning.

“Craig, is this for serious? I just can’t believe it. This is too good to be true.”

The home includes landscaping and furnishing for the family of eight, with the proceeds of all donations in the lottery going towards the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

“I thought it doesn’t matter if it doesn’t go anywhere because I put the money into something I care about obviously the health of our young people, and older people,” Mrs Laidlaw said.

The Royal Melbourne Hospital Home Lottery has been running since 2005 and supports patient care and medical research.

The house was just one of 4,700 prizes totalling more than $3 million.
