Shadow Treasurer Jo Hockey and the Triple M Grill Team surprised music fans by dropping the new Pearl Jam single “Mind Your Manners” this morning… but it wasn’t without the standard political dig.

Hockey, who presented the track on-air, used the opportunity to take a swipe at Prime Minister Kevin Rudd by dedicating the song to the airline hostess Rudd reduced to tears back in 2009.

It was the perfect segway for Hockey, who said “The new single from Pearl Jam is being launched right across the Triple M network today, called Mind Your Manners, and I want to dedicate it to Kevin Rudd on behalf of the stewardess on the government plane that he abused a few years ago because she brought him out the wrong food.”

Triple M fans were the first to hear the track from the album Lighting Bolt, which is not due out until October 15.
