Broadcaster Joel Carnegie will hit the international airwaves this weekend on Germany’s international broadcaster, Deutsche Welle.
Joel Carnegie is the Lead & Founder of The Space Company, a media production house, which produces content and stories for the likes of ABC Radio National, Fairfax Media and others.
The award-winning presenter/reporter/producer and musician describes the gig as an incredible opportunity.
“I’m passionate about telling stories that challenge or deepen our relationship with the world around us. This story that I produced which will air on Deutsche Welle is one of hope, courage and above all voice – and I think will also add a new Australian perspective on the international discussion about asylum seekers,” he said.
The documentary/feature is called “Voices Without Borders” and is about a choir based in Melbourne, made up of asylum seekers who have taken the difficult journey to Australia by boat. The documentary/feature will air on Deutsche Welle’s “World Link” program – a 60-minute program of personal tales from around the world – looking at the people behind the current affairs headlines.
Joel has worked across the ABC, commercial and community media, and is currently working on a variety of feature stories and documentaries.
